AWS Introduction | what is AWS
AWS or Amazon Web Services is a familiar name, but many people do not know what it really is.
AWS is a Cloud IaaS platform. IaaS means “Infrastructure As A Service”. This means that you can use the computing power and RAM to create the kind of virtual machine you want to get the infrastructure you need for cloud services.
Just think you have a normal computer that can do day to day works only. So you can’t use it for the high performance required processing stuff. In that issue, IaaS comes to help. You can use that service on your own PC and it will build a virtual high performance ended PC on your computer. As above mentioned infrastructure can supply high performances with you. You only want to have a good internet connection. That’s all. Your virtual machine will work as a supercomputer and it’ll complete all your high-performance processes. I will give you a detailed explanation in future articles.
AWS is the first service to enter the cloud infrastructure market. It is currently using the various services we use on the internet on a daily basis to enhance its infrastructure.
However, by now, if this AWS crashes, a large portion of the Internet will crash at once. By the end of last year, AWS had a 40% share of the cloud market, and a wide range of services such as Netflix, Pinterest, Slack, Spotify, Airbnb, and Expedia are now working to acquire their infrastructure through AWS.
Each type of service in this “What is AWS” blog, is categorized under a domain, the few domains which are widely used are:
- Compute
- Storage
- Database
- Migration
- Network and Content Delivery
- Management Tools
- Security & Identity Compliance
- Messaging
I hope you could gain a basic idea about what is AWS. Like to know about your ideas for this article.
